My first bootcamp experience
I have recently found an opportunity to build a portfolio that could be an important stepping stone to my career goals.
I applied to part of Side Hustle’s Digital marketing boot camp and the experience has been sublime. This is the first week of the boot camp and I was paired with a team to work on projects that will give us work experience.
We were tasked with creating a digital marketing plan, a content calendar, and writing blogs and newsletters. We were in a group of six with an instructor, guides and briefs on how to carry out the task given to us and we went ahead in carrying out the task.
we had 5 days to carry out the task, plus there was a lot to do in this short time. On the first day, my team decided to make our research on the brand and industry we chose, it was a fictional brand called BoomCredit.
After a day of Google and watching YouTube videos about the task we were given, the team came together to discuss ideas and make out a plan on how we would approach the task, responsibilities task were split among every team member.
During the experience for me, I had other responsibilities that seemed like restraints to getting the task done which led to me having to sleep late and getting stressed. I communicated my issues to the team and they also had similar or other issues restraining them but because everyone was very understanding in the team, we were able to help everyone participate and gain as much as we could.
Eventually, everyone was able to handle the part of the task they were given after hours of file sharing, meetings and calls. I will like to also share with the public what we came up with for our fictional brand called BoomCredit, in case someone wants to make reference to it or learn something from it.
